Crimes against humanity in the form of human organ
trafficking are committed at an estimated rate of one per hour world-wide. Patients who afford to pay $100,000-200,000
for kidney are served by international rings of gangsters in China, India,
Pakistan Eastern Europe and Israel.
“Consenting” donors are paid $2,500-5,000 (if that) and
are left behind without follow-up medical care.
The difference between the cost of the original kidney and the completed
transplant service is pocketed by surgeons, nephrologists and hospital
administrators.
The British paper The Guardian has a graphic report (May 27, 2012), of a Chinese
migrant worker who was forcefully submitted into the kidney “harvesting” even
though he changed his mind.

Note:
Like other criminal trades the business of illegal transplant organs will
continue to thrive because the international demand is growing. Prevalence of diabetic kidney disease and kidney
failure is growing with increasing incidence of diabetes due to cheap food
supply and over-eating in Western countries.
The cheapest sugar and calories-loaded
sources are various Cola, sugar sweetened sodas, and alcoholic beverages.
It’s time to start taxing sweetened
beverages to reduce their consumption and use the proceeds for medical care. Much the same as happened with cigarettes
smoking.
